"Tensegrity" is an elision of "tension" + "integrity" • Sphere rigidity is provided by tension elements (tendons) and compression elements (struts) • No strut touches another strut

I'm working out the details for a 3'-diameter sphere, which would make each strut about 3/4"-diameter and 8" long (that's ~120 feet of tubing!)

I haven't yet calculated the total cable requirement.

(This is going to be a lot heavier than I'd first hoped.)
