It took a while to model. Glad you liked it.

It's one of my favorite spaceships, even though fictional. (My top fav is the real deal -- the North American X-15.)

I noticed the crazy details you put in the layers. Very awesome job!!

Cool! I like most the way they approached spacetravel. They made it feel really lived in ex. the episode with the 'truckers' or the one where they're fixing up Spike's swordfish =)

I must have watched the DVDs a dozen times, saving screen grabs of exterior & interior details. That, along with blueprints, scanned from the box for the plastic model, provided enough hardware & color info to 3D-model the Red Tail.

I like the Red Tail better than the Swordfish, since it is a modified "utility" spacecraft, rather than a "racer." (Having a well-rounded battery of weapons adds to the attraction, of course.)

Only my X-15 3D-models have more detail. Glad you like it. Hope you learned something of SketchUp model organization, too.

(Too bad the movie project was canned.)

And thank you for your courtesy (attribution etiquette.)

Other readers, be sure to check out erik-nl renders of the Redtail:

While I went for the "anime" appearance, Erik uses photo-realistic textures.
Makes me wish (again) that the movie project had not killed.

WOW! Cool model! I never really noticed that her ship was toting dual underslung six-shooters before. I guess I just wasn't looking close.
Great work!
